Abstract:

The rapid evolution of AI presents unprecedented opportunities for IT leaders. This session explores IT’s critical role in harnessing agentic AI – autonomous systems capable of taking action across tools – to unlock productivity and innovation. IT sits at the center of complexity, owning the identity, infrastructure, compliance, data flows, and permission layers essential for AI agents to operate securely and with intent. Discover the crucial distinction between deterministic workflows (for predictable, high-risk processes) and agentic workflows (for dynamic, unstructured data). Learn how to strategically extend deterministic workflows with intelligent orchestration. We emphasize why human judgment remains irreplaceable in AI-driven IT, presenting “human-in-the-loop” as a core design principle for responsible scaling and oversight.
