Nikki Jackson

A Certified Senior Level Executive with over 20 years of Information Technology, Security, Internal Audit, and Financial Services combined experience. Leading and providing oversight for many facets of security and technology domains, including Network & Information Security, Data Privacy, IT Asset Management, Third Party Risk Management, and Incident Response. Responsibility for compliance with many banking regulations, has led to extensive knowledge in various standards such as NIST, FFIEC, GLBA, and PCI DSS. As a trusted advisor in the industry, I participate in many professional organizations such TBA, IIA, ISACA, InfraGard, and FS-ISAC. Active on several advisory boards and leadership committees including Sam Houston State University, Sentinel One, and ISACA. Along with a passion to serve my organizations, diversity in the Cybersecurity industry has also become a passion. Therefore in 2023, I founded an organization called “AWIC”, Advancing Women in Cybersecurity. AWIC’s mission is simply to “Diversifying Cyber; One Woman at a Time” by offering women and young ladies from underserved schools and communities’ guidance and resources to excel in the Cybersecurity industry.

I am currently working with two companies in the O&G area -- one in drilling fluids automation/optimization and the other in cybersecurity. I am a licensed patent attorney and am one of less than sixty licensed Professional Engineers in Texas in the area of Software Engineering. I have led research teams, been a Principal Investigator or Project Manager on countless efforts, and performed consulting for both government and commercial entities. I have developed commercially successful products from concept through research, product development, market testing, commercialization, and building services around the product. I have developed partnerships world-wide which has led to unique experiences of briefing military audiences in Turkey and extensive lectures in Japan and Korea. I obtained a law degree to expand my career based on my technical experience and expertise. I have used my law degree to focus on research and writing in areas of the law relating to technology including a book on integrating physical and electronic security. I completed my J.D. studies in December 2008 and passed the February 2009 Texas Bar. I studied in St. Petersburg, Russia, in the Summer Law Institute through the University of Arkansas. I am widely published and a public speaker. I am interested in opportunities that bridge technology and law. Specialties: New business development; product commercialization from applied research through technology development and testing and into fielded operations and support; making oral presentations; writing technical and business articles.
