Lester Godsey

Chief Information Security Officer - Arizona State University

Lester Godsey is the CISO for Arizona State University, the largest public university by enrollment in the United States. Prior to ASU, he was the CISO for Maricopa County for five years, where he was responsible for information security during the most contentious US elections in modern history. With over 30 years of public-sector IT experience, Lester has presented at the local, state and national level on topics ranging from telecommunications to data management to cybersecurity. As a certified PMP, CISM and CISSP, Lester has taught at the collegiate level for over 15 years in the areas of cybersecurity, technology and project management. A published author and an active participant in the cybersecurity community, he holds a BA in Music and an MS in Technology from Arizona State University.

Mike presently serves as the Chief Information Security Officer for Grand Canyon Education, responsible for leading the security team and formulating the vision and strategy for protecting students, staff and information assets across the enterprise. Previous experiences include serving as a threat prevention expert for Check Point and working as a consultant and analyst for other organizations. He is also a co-author/contributor for the joint book project, Understanding New Security Threats published by Routledge in 2019, along with multiple articles/whitepapers. When not working, he spends time playing video games with his kids, practicing martial arts and doing anything outdoors.
